Today's blog post is in honor of and giving thanks to all Veterans for their service. Known for philanthropy and community outreach (as well as extravagant galas and social events), Palm Beach rolled out the red carpet during World War II, hosting boot camps, hospitals and other military facilities in several area hotels. Debutantes and society matrons volunteered, doing back-breaking work. But ever the consummate hostesses, they also provided meals and entertainment to the troops. Do you know what the Palm Beach Biltmore Hotel served as beginning in June 1943?
